Get Insider Insights on Innovation in the Era of AI from Leading Researchers
In today’s fast-paced world, where everyone is doing everything they can to stay ahead, we often forget that some of the best ways to spark innovation and improve our processes come from turning to our own peers and other leaders in the field. Learning from each other can be one of the most powerful sources of innovation. In the spirit of knowledge sharing, we asked some top global researchers about their thoughts on the future of the industry, the emerging technologies they’re most excited about, and their advice for other researchers looking to inspire innovation in their organizations. Here’s what they had to say:
1. What advice would you offer other researchers who aspire to drive innovation in their organizations?Allissa LaScala, VP, CRM Manager at Orveon Global
Given our smaller scale at Orveon, we compensate and remain competitive with our peer group through efficient execution and innovation. As innovation is a necessity not a luxury, we embrace improvements at any scale because even minor innovations become the building blocks for larger more visible changes and programs.
Jacob Murphy, Research Manager at tombola
Research needs to be micro/macro - to drive innovation and action, we need to ensure we don't work in silo and ultimately deliver the bottom line for companies.
2. What emerging technologies or research methodologies are you most excited about?
Sherry Browne, Director, Client Experience Measurement at CIBC
AI analysis tools have become extremely valuable in the customer experience (CX) research industry. These tools allow organizations to quickly analyze and manage large open-ended client feedback datasets, leading to promising results. Unlike traditional human-directed methods, these new approaches support Measurement Teams in refining and identifying actionable findings, confirming category groupings, and uncovering emerging themes with greater speed and accuracy than was previously possible.
3. What advice would you offer other researchers who aspire to drive innovation in their organizations?
Radwa Abd El-Hamid, Customer Intelligence Senior Manager at Majid Al Futtaim
Stakeholder alignment is the ultimate key to success. As they say, get their weigh-in to get their buy-in. An open, collaborative conversation around what matters most to the business, how success (of the business and the stakeholders) is measured, and what is really an unanswered question will make sure your research is:
1. relevant (i.e. an answers an actual need)
2. insightful (i.e. is not something everyone already knows) and
3. actionable (i.e. can be translated to an implementation plan with clear roles and responsibilities).
Think of your internal stakeholders the same way you think about external customers - only by thoroughly understanding their needs and pain points will you be able to deliver something meaningful and fruitful.
4. How do you see the field of research evolving in the next five years?
Karly Jean Lagahid, Enterprise Analytics Manager - Research and Loyalty at Cebu Pacific Air
Over the next five years, market research will undergo notable changes, driven by technological advancements, evolving consumer expectations, and an increased focus on data privacy. Technologies leveraging AI will make data analysis more efficient, enabling us to extract insights faster and with greater precision. Despite these advancements, our core responsibility remains to amplify the authentic voice of the customer, guided by ethical standards and respect for privacy. As researchers, it is essential to continue upskilling to stay proficient in emerging tools and uphold ethical integrity, ensuring our insights reflect genuine consumer needs while building trust through transparent practices.
